One Down, Four to Go!
Onamia Councilman Mark Loch
Resigns
Although the "Loch-ness Monster" has resigned from the Onamia
City Council and is moving out of the city he was elected to represent (but
failed), the damage caused by this yes-man is everlasting, un-do-able,
un-fix-able, AND citizens will be paying for Mark Loch's bad judgment and
absence of testicular fortitude for many years to come.

No Privatization for Nexus!
by Hannabelle
Mille Lacs News Staff Writer
There was a little blurb in the Mille Lacs Messenger a few
weeks ago which casually mentioned that Mille Lacs Academy will not be
privatized. You might have missed it. It was buried in an article by Diane
Gibas entitled "Onamia, Nexus come to agreement." We've been
waiting for some sort of follow up on this story, but since it is bad news
for Nexus, the Pronexus Messenger once again failed to fully inform the public. That's what we're here for.

State Senator Betsy Wergin Resigns
State Senator Betsy Wergin has been appointed by Governor Tim
- I-don't-answer-emails - Pawlenty to the Public Utilities Commission and
therefore has resigned from the Minnesota Senate. We don't care why she is
leaving, we're just glad to see her go. Candidates to replace her have yet
to be announced. A special election will take place in November. (Let's not
make the same mistake again.)

Mille Lacs News Staff Writer
Here's a question for all Mille Lacs County residents. If you
have been reading the Mille Lacs News like you should, then you know that
Nexus exists primarily through your tax dollars. But did you know that you
were also paying for "poor, troubled youth" in Stearns County?

Nexus Persecution Continues.
If You Tell, We'll Sue You!
by Hannabelle
Mille Lacs News Staff Writer
It would appear that Nexus is all in favor of Freedom of
Speech - unless you say something they'd rather you not say - about them.
The old mantra your mother may have taught you: "If you can't say anything
nice, don't say anything at all" seems to have become obsolete. According to
the new lawsuit threatening Hannabelle, Nexus' stance is: If you can't say
anything nice, we'll sue you.

Onamia Council:
Marching
On in April
Citizens Rights Violated!
Mille Lacs News Staff Writer
At this point, it should come as no surprise that the Onamia
City Council, led by the man in charge - City Attorney Robert "Bob" Ruppe
will go through with handing Nexus the Conditional Use Permit it needs to
begin destroying the 38.81 scenic acres to put up a sex offender facility
despite a year-long protest from opposing neighbors.

Onamia Council:
No Ordinary Ordinance
Mille Lacs News Staff Writer
When the Onamia city council sets forth to
"git 'er done" for Nexus, nothing will stop them. Not even the Law. In order
to circumvent Spot Zoning, somewhere along they way, they decided to zone
the property R2 and amend an ordinance to allow juvenile sex offender
facilities as a permitted use in a single family residential zone. That
didn't work.
