Onamia Councilman Mark Loch Resigns Although the "Loch-ness Monster" has resigned from the Onamia City Council and is moving out of the city he was elected to represent (but failed), the damage caused by this yes-man is everlasting, un-do-able, un-fix-able, AND citizens will be paying for Mark Loch's bad judgment and absence of testicular fortitude for many years to come. *Read the Story* Wednesday July 19, 2008 No Privatization for Nexus! by Hannabelle Mille Lacs News Staff Writer There was a little blurb in the Mille Lacs Messenger a few weeks ago which casually mentioned that Mille Lacs Academy will not be privatized. You might have missed it. It was buried in an article by Diane Gibas entitled "Onamia, Nexus come to agreement." We've been waiting for some sort of follow up on this story, but since it is bad news for Nexus, the Pronexus Messenger once again failed to fully inform the public. We don't care why she is leaving, we're just glad to see her go. Candidates to replace her have yet to be announced. A special election will take place in November. In order to circumvent Spot Zoning, somewhere along they way, they decided to zone the property R2 and amend an ordinance to allow juvenile sex offender facilities as a permitted use in a single family residential zone.
